UML STANDING COMMITTEE MEETS

Kathmandu, 1 Aug.: UML standing committee started a crucial meeting Monday following an initiative by Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal, who is also the party chairman, to induct only some of 24 new members of a proposed Maoist government team..
The standing committee previously opposed a Maoist decision to send a new team of 24 members to government.
Maoists and UML have formed a majority communist government opposed by some influential UML member, including fromer Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal and KP Oli.

TWO CHILDREN ABDUCTED FROM PARBAT

Kathmandu, 1 Aug.: Two seven and nine-year-old children of Prem Tiwari were lifted from their home overnight at Pipaltari VDC in Parbat.
They were students Bal Kumari school/
The father was released from nearly the house but children have been abducted.
Unknown abductors demanded a Rs. 100,000 ransom, Radio Nepal said Monday.
