KATHMANDU: An emergency meeting of the disciplinary commission of CPN-UML came to the conclusion that party chairman Jhala Nath Khanal violated the party’s discipline in the issue of reshuffling his cabinet.

Issuing a press statement on Tuesday, the commission has said that the party chairman and Prime Minister’s act was an emotional one and it was against the party’s tradition, norms and values.

“The party chairman has to follow the decision of the party whether it is favourable or infavourable. But the chairman citing the special right of Prime Minister has acted against the party’s tradition, norms and values,” reads the statement.

Likewise, the meeting also found vice chairman Bam Dev Gautam guilty for supporting the chairman in taking such a decision despite all the members in the party’s Standing Committee opposing the cabinet reshuffle.

The commission directed the chairman and vice chairman not to the repeat the mistake in future.
