BAIDYA FRONT AMID OPPOSITION FROM ESTABLISHMENT LAUNCHES GROUP AGAIST SOCIAL ILLS
Kathmandu, 7 Sept.: Amid protests from the establishment faction, a group of supporters of First Vice-chairman Mohan Baidya Tuesday launched a 300-member force to push a campaign against social ills in Kalikot.
The move comes as the Baidya group opposed decision of groups of Chairman Prachanda and Second Vice-chairman and Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai to handover keys of containers with insurgency-era weapons to a government committee headed ex-officio by the premier.
Baidya group has boycotted the Bhattarai government demanding apology for procedural mistake in key handover as a pre-condition to join government.
Prachanda and Bhattarai factions are determined to push their move in what they call an effort to conclude the peace process and constitution drafting in another 45 days.
National politics facing uncertainty with the fresh emergence of a public difference in the largest party heading the government.
