DEUBA CALLS FOR PACKAGE SOLUTION IN NC TO
WITHDRAW HIS RESIGNATION FROM CENTRAL COMMITTEE
Kathmandu, 30 Sept. Senior leader of the Nepali Congress, Sher Bahadur Deuba has said a package deal has to be reached for the withdrawal of his resignation from the post of central member of the party, RSS reports .
Talking to media persons following a meeting with leaders of the sister organizations of the party at his Budhanilakantha residence today, Deuba said the party establishment side should ‘give us respectable position’ in order to sort out the dispute over the dissolution of the sister organizations.
It may be noted that the office-bearers of the dissolved sister organizations’ executive committee had staged a hunger strike for ten days calling for withdrawal of the decision at the central office in Sanepa, Lalitpur.
Also on Thursday a meeting of the senior leaders including Party President Sushil Koirala had decided to urge Deuba to take back his resignation.
At the discussion held at the Deuba residence today, a decision was reached to forge a consensus only of the general convention preparation committee was formed under the convenorship of the current leaders of the sister organizations.
A decision was also taken to resort to a nationwide movement if the establishment side of the party did not review its decision to dissolve the sister organizations, according to Tarun Dal President Mahendra Yadav.
Leaders of Nepal Tarun Dal, Women's Association, Indigenous Nationalities leaders and some central members of the party were present on the occasion.
