DEUBA FACTION DECIDES TO OPPOSE CENTRAL COMMITTEE DECISION UPDATE

Kathmandu, 21 Sept 21: A meeting of the Sher Bahaudr Deuba faction in NC Wednesday decided to oppose Tuesday’s central committee dissolve executive committees of four sister organizations and conduct their affairs through ad hoc committees for fresh elections.
Deuba supporters boycotted Tuesday’s central committee meeting which dissolved executive committees of Nepal Tarun Dal, Nepal Women’s Association, Nepal Adibasi Janajati Sangh and Prajatantra Senani Sangh.
At Wednesday’s meeting at the Deuba residence, his supporters reiterated there was an unwritten agreement between President Koirala and Deuba to conduct elections by incumbent office bearers whose elected tenure has ended.
The group said fast on to death by supporters pushing the Deuba group demands at party head office will continue.

AMBULANCE DRIVER AND PERSON POSING SICK ARRESTED IN FAILED ATTEMPT TO SMUGGLE SANDALWOOD TO TIBET

Kathmandu, 21 Sept.: Police overnight arrested the driver of an ambulance and a person feigning sickness as red sandalwood was being smuggled to Tibet through Tatopani overnight.
The wood was hidden in a box on which the person feigning sickness was sleeping.
Red sandalwood is smuggled from India to Tibet through Nepal.
