DEUBA SAYS HE’S BEING HOUNDED IN NC
Kathmandu, 23 Sept.: Senior NC leader Sher Bahadur Deuba Friday charged he’s being hounded in the main opposition party at a public meeting organized by a party fraternal organization.
Deuba said an environment is being orchestrated in the party against him.
But Party General Secretary Prakash Man Singh charged Deuba at another function for developing a strategy to make party President Sushil Koirala a failure.
The accusations were traded as the establishment faction dissolved executive committees of four fraternal organizations opposed by Deuba.
Koirala asked party district party committees Friday not to go against the party central committee decision as Deuba faction decided to raise the dissolution issue at a meeting of district presidents.
Singh said the four bodies were dissolved as they were ineffective.

DPM SHRESTHA ASKS CANADA TO EXTEND SUPPORT AT A NEW YORK MEET
Kathmandu, 23 Sept.: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Narayan Kaji Shrestha urged his Canadian counterpart John Baird to extend support to Nepal's development efforts, RSS reports.
Shrestha who is currently in New York, to take part in the 66th United Nations General Assembly, met Baird and urged to enlist Nepal in the priority list of Canada to offer formal development aid.
Shrestha also urged his Canadian counterpart to invest in Nepal's hydro power projects and stressed on the need to end the dual tax provision so as to increase the trade volume between the two countries, said the Permanent Nepal Mission in UN.
The two leaders also discussed the issues relating to bilateral relations and increasing economic assistance.
The Permanent Nepali Mission in UN said that Baird told Shrestha to hold discussions in the Council of Ministers regarding enlisting Nepal in the priority list of extending formal development aid.
Likewise, DPM Shrestha stressed for constituting a consultation mechanism to strengthen the bilateral relations between Nepal and Kyrgyzstan by holding discussion with the Kyrgyz Foreign Affairs Minister, Ruslan Kajakbayev.
Similarly, Shrestha attended an informal meeting of the SAARC Council of Ministers organised by Maldivian Foreign Minister Ahmed Naseem at the sideline of the UN General Assembly.
