LANDSLIDE BURIES ALIVE AT LEAST FIVE PERSONS N BAGLUNG AS MONSOON ENDS

Kathmandu, 22 Sept: Five persons were buried alive by a landslide at a village in Baglung Thursday, police said.
They were digging canal in the mid-West district.
Eight have been rushed to hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
Rescue efforts are on.

TOP LEADERS QUIT UCPN (MAOIST)

Kathmandu, 22 Sept.: Several top leaders of UCPN (Maoist), a splinter group of UCPN (Maoist) leading the government, have quit the party.
Bharat Dahal, spokesman of the party, Thursday announced in the capital he quit the party along with several central committee members.
Defectors charged the party for financial irregularities.
UCPN (Maoist) is led by Matrika Prasad Yadav.
