MINISTER GUPTA REACTS ANGRILY TO ANTI-NATIONAL CHARGE

MINISTER GUPTA REACTS ANGRILY TO ANTI-NATIONAL
Kathmandu, 22 Sept.: Communication Minister Jayaprakash Prasad Gupta Thursday asked a faction in UCPN (Maoist) not to call Madeshis anti-national.
“To call Madeshis anti-national is low level accusation.
Resolve your problems in the party. But don’t level such non-political accusations,” the minister who is also Chairman of MJFN (Ganatantrik) told reporters in the capital.
Gupta was reacting to charges of a faction in ruling UCPN (Maoist) led by first Vice-chairman Mohan Baidya.
The group said the four-point agreement between the factions of Chairman Prachanda and Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai and five Madeshbadi parties to secure the government of Baburam Bhattarai was anti-national.
The agreement has brought out differences in the party leading the government in the open.
The Baidya group has launched a campaign against the Bhattarai government and the agreement calling for its abrogation and formation of a new government led UCPN (Maoist) canceling the four-point deal.
