PARLIAMENT MEETS. ADJOURNED UNTIL 12 SEPT.

Kathmandu, 5 Sept.: Parliament which met Monday was adjourned until next Tuesday 12 September without discussing an annual budget of 2068/69 presented by the outgoing government of Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal.
Successor government of Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai is seeking amendments in against recommendations of Speaker Subash Nemwang.
Appropriations of ministries in the budget already haven’t been sanctioned by parliament.
Chairman of Public Accounts Committee Ram Krishna Yadav presented its report to parliament Monday.

PM BHATTARAI HOLDS DISCUSSIONS WITH SMALL PARTIES

Kathmandu, 5 Sept.: Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai Monday held discussions with representatives of small parties.
and discussed government expansion.
Small parties supported Maoists and five Madeshsbadi parties to give majority support to the coalition in parliament against two NC candidates.
Bhattarai asked parties to select their representatives to government.
Earlier reports said five ministries have been set aside for the small parties in government.

MINISTERS ASSUME OFFICE

Kathmandu, 5 Sept.: Ministers of an expanded assumed formal responsibilities Monday after being installed Sunday one week after Dr.Baburam Bhattaraai was appointed in a Maoist/Madeshbadi coalition.
Thirteen Maoist/Madeshbadi party leaders were inducted.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Narayan Kazi Shrestha of UCPN (Maoist)also took charge of the foreign ministry.
He was deputy prime minister and home minister in the outgoing Khanal government.

CP GAJUREL SAYS HIS MAOIST FACTION READY TO JOION GOVT. CONDITIONALLY

Kathmandu, 5 Sept.: Maoist Secretary CP Gajurel demanded Monday Chairman Prachanda and Prime Minister Dr.Baburam Bhattarai the First Vice-chairman Mohan Baidya faction is ready to join the government conditionally.
“They should accept their mistake. We will join government,”
Gajurel said.
He added his group wasn’t demanding rescinding a establishment faction decision to handover keys to containers with insurgency-era arms to a government committee.
The process adopted was wrong, he said.
A meeting of the central committee later this month will be decisive, Gajurel added.
