FIRE ENGULFS TELECOM TOWER IN JHAPA
Kathmandu, 23 Sept.: Fire engulfed the Nepal Telecom tower in Khudunabari-9 of Jhapa at 7 PM Thursday, RSS reports from Bhadrapur. .
The fire gripped the tower placed at the roof of the house of local TN Sapkota. The fire that took place due to short circuit of electricity caused losses to two machines of the tower. Loss incurred by the fire has yet to be assessed.
A team of Armed Police and Civil Police had reached the site to take the fire under control.
Meanwhile, loss worth Rs. tens of thousands occurred when fire took place in Shivagunj-1 in the southern belt of Jhapa on Thursday afternoon. The flames triggered the loss worth Rs. 300,000 by gutting a tin-corrugated building of Kamal Bimani along with clothes, utensils and other belongings.
Likewise, loss worth more than Rs. 200,000 occurred when fire engulfed in Kumarkhod-7. Short circuit is the reason behind this event also.
A storey-building of Chhatra Rajbamshi was completely destroyed along with the valuables inside his home. The loss of physical property was worth Rs. 166,000, according to District Police Office.
In the similar vein, the same fire spread and gutted the cowshed of his neighbor Petan Rajbamshi causing a loss worth Rs. 50,000.
