PM BHATTARAI, PRACHANDA HOLD JOINT DISCUSSIONS WITH SUSHIL KOIRALA

Kathmandu, 5 Sept.: Prime Minister Dr.Baburam Bhattarai and Maoist Chairman Prachanda held joint discussions with NC President Sushil Koirala Monday.
They discussed constitution drafting and the peace process.
The meeting coincided with a NC central committee where speakers welcomed a decision of the Prachanda/Bhattarai factions to handover keys of containers with Maoist weapons to a government committee.
The decision has split the Maoists with a group led by First Vice-chairman Mohan Baidya opposing the move publicly.
Speakers at the NC central committee said the Baidya move will derail the peace process.

24 INJURED IN NAWALPARASI BUS/TRUCK COLLISION

Kathmandu, 5 Sept.: Twenty-four persons were injured Monday in a collision between a bus and a truck on a highway in Nawalparasi Monday.
Passengers with minor injuries are being treated locally.

RAT GROUNDS RNA BANGKOK FLIGHT

Kathmandu, 5 Sept.: A Nepal Airlines Corporation (RNA) flight preparing for takeoff for Bangkok was grounded by a rat onboard Monday.
Altogether 133 passengers were preparing to takeoff for the Thai capital in the state carrier.
