PM BHATTARAI TO ANSWER QUESTIONS OF RADIO NEPAL LISTENERS

PM BHATTARAI ANSWERING QUESTIONS OVER STATE RADIO IN FIRST SUCH MOVE BY GOVT.CHIEF

Kathmandu, 30 Sept.: For one hour 45 minutes beginning at 8.15 Sunday the evening, Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai will directly interact with questioners over Radio Nepal, the state controlled radio announced Friday.
This is the first time a government head in Nepal’s history will participate in such a programme to promote direct public relations.
The move comes as he takes initiatives to establish direct contacts with the public using latest communication networks.
He responded to a letter to the editor in a vernacular daily this week mentioning problems it is encountering in running a Naxal school; he assured help.
But the doctorate holder in architectural engineering is already encountering problems after completing one month in office.
Wife Hishila Yami, according to a newspaper demanded an expensive limousine for personal use despite an executive order from the premier to government to discard use of expensive vehicles at government expensive.
He was accused by protestors waiving black flags in New York this month waiving black flags this month.
Bhattarai was charged for staying at Hyatt Hotel even while flying to New York economy class –called a hypocritical stunt.
Protests have swelled from within his UCPN (Maoist) as he adopts a pro-Indian policy even asking for Indian assist to help draft a delayed constitution.
Bhattarai didn’t ask for the help but his party boss Prachanda did so on his behalf this week citing New Delhi had brokered a 12-pont agreement between UCPN (Maoist) and seven parliamentary parties even as Bhattarai told the UN in an address to the UN general assembly the transition from monarchy was locally generated—a laughable claim.
The prime minister is facing stiff resistance from the party for signing a controversial ‘anti-national’ four-point agreement Madeshibadi parties to secure leadership of government by conceding regional demands including mass recruitment of Madeshis in Nepal Army.
Initial moves have already started even as demand for integration of 19,000 plus former rebel fighters have been sidelined.
The premier is facing rocky weather even as he has barely settled down at
Baluwatar and Singha Durbar.
