TOP INDIAN PARTIES STALL ANOUNCED NEPAL VISIT NOT GIVE IMPRESSTION THEY SUPPPORT MAOISTS AND ITS GOVT. IN NEPAL

MAHENDRA GURUNG OF COMMUNIST PANEL ELECTED CHIEF OF NEA

Kathmandu, 20 Sept : Nepal Engineers´ Association´s (NEA) election elected Mahendra Bahadur Gurung of the progressive panel as the chairman of the association, RSS reports.

He secured 2,622 votes.

According to the association, Gurung´s contender Hareram Shrestha of democratic panel got 2,469 votes.

Similarly, Dilip Kumar Jha, Anuradha Sharma Adhikari, Suraj Lamichhane and Shailita Manandhar Joshi were the vice-chairman, general secretary, deputy general secretary and treasurer, respectively.

Bheshraj Thapa, Shaligram Parajuli, Binod Bhattarai, Birodh Rijal, Chudaraj Dhakal, Ishwor Chandra Baniya and Anju Udas, Susan Baidhya, Bikash Pokhrel and Rohini Paudel have been elected as the members of the association.

There were 8,060 members to vote in the election that was held on September 16.

INDIAN TOP DELEGATION VISIT CANCELLED AT 11TH HOUR

Kathmandu, 20 Sept.: The proposed visit by a delegation of four major parties to Kathmandu [from last Saturday] was stalled at the last minute after Indian National Congress (INC) refused to be seen as conditional ‘supporter’ of the UCPN –M and the government headed by Baburam Bhattarai, The Reporter writes.
But the ‘last minute ‘backtrack’ first by Rajnath Singh and then refusal of the INC to be seen as an unconditional well-wisher of the Maoist party and its government in Nepal, stalled the visit in the last minute.
