WIDESPREAD QUAKE DAMAGE REPORTED FROM NEPAL ACCODING TO FIRST REPORTS

Kathmandu, 18 Sept.: Widespread damage has been reported from Nepali a a strong earthquake recorded Sunday evening.
High wall separating British and Indian embassies in the capital collapsed as rescue efforts were launched and continue.
Sixteen houses collapsed in Sankhuwababha in the east adjoining India’s Darjeeling and Sikkim.
Three persons were injured in Ramechap in central Nepal, in house collapses, according to first reports.
Nepal was jolted by a strong quake measuring 6.8 on the Richter scale at 6.25 in the evening and the epicenter was in Sikkim .
People rushed out on the streets in the capital to open spaces.

Bhim Rawal reported from Thamel he felt the ground under him feet suddenly heated up.
A taxi driver in Maitidevi said he was surprised when his parked taxi in Maitidevi in the capital rocked east to west.
Tourists in the area Thamel were calm and didn’t rush out on streets as buildings rocked.
Two persons in Dillai Bazzar were injured as they jumped out of buildings.
A tree was uprooted near Bir Hospital.
