MORE DETAILLS OF NC, MAOIST MEET

Kathmandu, 26 Oct.: Main opposition NC and Maoist to discuss
the conclusion of the twin processes of the peace process and constitution drafting was inconclusive Wednesday.
The next meeting will be held after tihar festivities end during
the weekend.
The processes have to be concludes by 31 November.
NC and Maoist met after Prime Minister Baburam
Bhattarai signed a controversial agreement protecting
investments with compensation during a just concluded India visit—Bhattarai’s first after assuming office as government chief.
NC has supported in principle the agreement concludes by a
hard-line in UCPN (Maoist) and second biggest opposition
party UML.
NC President Sushil Koirala was assisted by aides during the talks with Maoists conducted at the residence of Maoist Chief Prachanda who led the Maoist negotiating team.
PM BHATTARAI COMMENT ON INDIA VISIT
Meanwhile, Premier Bhattarai said Wednesday his India visit
has helped reduce suspicions after UCPN (Maoist) and create aan atmosphere of trust.
“Many suspicions about that (Maoist) have helped reduced and there’s no place to suspect Maoists. It’s not that all problems have been resolved.But an atmosphere has been created.
‘This will help eliminate remaining differences,” the government said Wednesday in an interview.
