EMIR TUESDAY
Kathmandu, 11 Oct. President Dr.Ram Baran Yadav will be
welcomed received ceremonially by Qatar Emir Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani at the palace on the second day of a four-day state visit.
The president began his state visit and third foreign tour after
assuming the presidency Monday.
Dr,Yadav earlier visited immediate neighbours India and China.
Two agreements during the visit
Qatar is an important destination for Nepali workers.
The visit coincided with the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Gulf emirate and the Himalayan state.
The president returns home Thursday.

Nepal has climbed to eighth position in the cricket rankings of group A published by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for Associate and Affiliate nations.
Ireland is placed in the top position while Papua New Guinea is placed in second position.
Canada, Scotland and Netherland are in third, fourth and fifth positions respectively. Nepal was in 14th position in the rankings table in 2010. Namibia and Afghanistan are below Nepal in ninth and 10th positions.
The rankings are allocated on the basis of team performance in senior, junior and women´s categories, states a press release issued by the Cricket Association of Nepal.
Similarly, infrastructural development, ability of umpires, scorers, coaches and employees are the other criteria.
Twin wins for Kamal Thapa
KATHMANDU: Veteran tennis player Kamal Thapa enjoyed double victories in the All India Senior Tennis Tournament being held in New Delhi, India. He achieved victories in U-55 singles and doubles and advanced into the quarterfinals.
Singles defending champion, Thapa beat SAN Raju of Andra Pradesh in straight sets 6-1, 6-1. In doubles, Thapa partnered with Ram Babu of India and beat Mukesh Patel and Suresh Bajaj´s pair in straight sets 6-2, 6-1. The quarterfinal of both the categories will be held on Wednesday. Thapa is the chairman of Rastriya Prajatantra Party Nepal.

KATHMANDU, Oct 11: As part of the preparation for the upcoming SAFF Championship to be held in New Delhi, India, in December, Nepal is all set to begin the tour of ASEAN countries with its first clash against the national team of the Philippines at the Rizal Memorial Stadium in the capital city Manila on Tuesday.
The first tour match will be vital for both--the visiting team Nepal and the home side.
The victory in the first match is sure to boost morale of the Nepali team which is set to play against three other countries namely Malaysia, Colombia and Thailand and some local clubs of those nations.
The match, at the same time, will be a prestige match for the host as it will be played at their home ground which is expected to pull huge crowd.
Similarly, the result will carry vital significance to the Philippines side which will play the final stage of AFC Challenge Cup at the Dasharath Stadium next year.
The match is also expected to be a test for the ambitious Nepali national team that started the tour of ASEAN countries to prepare itself for winning the SAFF Championship after 18 years

Police submits new charge sheet against Minister Sah

BIRGUNJ, Oct 10: The Parsa District Police on Monday submitted charge sheet to the office of public prosecutor against minister Prabhu Sah and his personal secretary Siya Ram Kushwaha charging them with the murder of Kashi Nath Tiwari, president of Hindu Yuwa Sangh.
The office of public prosecutor refused to register a case against Minister Sah earlier citing that the documents prepared by police were incomplete.
Police officials said that they have incorporated the missing evidences in the new charge sheet.
As per the legal provision, a public prosecutor has to register a case against a person based on the charge sheet prepared by the police after investigation.
“I have not gone through the charge sheet yet, so I can´t comment on the matter,” said district public prosecutor Om Prasad Aryal.
The police said that they found out about Minister Sah´s involvement in the murder of Tiwari on the basis of the statements made by Aman Kushwaha, who was arrested in connection to the murder case.
“Our investigation clearly shows that Minister Sah was involved in the murder of Tiwari and now it is up to the public prosecutor to take up the case at the court,” said Superintendent of Police Ramesh Kharel.
