TAPANATH SUKLA REAPPOINTED IN RADIO NEPAL

Kathmandu, 26 Sept.: Tapanath Sukla has been reappointed managing director of state-owned Radio Nepal with a national reach.
The state radio made the announcement.
Sukla, hails from the terai and was reappointed by the government led by Maoist Prime Minister Baburaam Bhattarai which has the support of five
Madeshshbadi parties.

CABINET ACCEPTS NEPAL SAMBAT

Kathmandu, 26 Sept.: The cabinet Tuesday accepted a long demand of manly the Newar community to five official status to Nepal Sambad as as a national calendar.
Prime Minister Chandra Shumshere Rana replaced it in 1960 with the Bikram Sambad.
The cabinet also forced a three-member committee headed by Padma Ratna Tuladhar to recommendto government how it implement the decision.
Tuladhar had been launching a crusade for giving official status to
the Nepal Sambad.
