UPDATE ON RAFTING ACCIDENT IN CHITWAN

UPDATE ON RIVER MISHAP WITH CORRECTION

Kathmandu, 22 Oct.: Three persons were killed and 10 were rescued after a boating accident at Trishuli and not Narayani river after a suspension bridge collapsed at Phisling ,Chitwan, Saturday morning.
Several others are missing in the rafting accident

INDIA’S SSB APOLOGIZES

Kathmandu,22 Oct.: India’s Seema Surakshya Bal (SBB) has apologized and expressed regret at an incident in Bhujel, Bhimdutta municipality-19 , Gorkhapatra from the town in Kanchanpur in the far-West.
The apology was expressed at a meeting of border officials.
SSB personnel entered the town this month and smashed and demolished houses in the town

ROAD REOPENED AFTER DISRUPTION OF TRAFFIC IN SINDHULI

Kathmandu, 22 Oct.: Traffic on the Khurkot-Nepalthok BP Highway has resumed from Saturday, RSS reports from Sindhuli.

The local administration had banned the transport movement along the highway that is under construction after a passenger bus met with an accident at Niulibhir of Jhagajholi VDC-4 a week ago.

An all party meeting held at the District Administration Office (DAO) on Friday decided to resume the traffic along the highway, said Chief District Officer (CDO) Beni Madhav Gyawali.

The meeting has decided to resume traffic on Khurkot Bazaar-Chainpur and Nepalthok-Pashupati Bazaar along the highway from Saturday, said CDO Gyawali.

RAIN, STORM DAMAGES PADDY CROP IN POKHARA
Kathmandu, 22 Oct.: Occurrence of Incessant rain and hailstone on Friday night caused huge losses to farmers by destroying the ripening paddy crops, RSS reports from Pokhara.

Around 90 per cent of the paddy farming in some wards of Baidam, Gauriphant, Nuharphant, Malepatan, Setiphant and Dhampus VDCs have been badly damaged, almost of no use.

The incessant rain with hailstone has also destroyed vegetable farming cultivated in various parts of Pokhata including Naya Bazaar and Malepatan Baidam.
