BIG THREE MEET WEDNESDAY
Kathmandu, 16 Nov.: The Big Three—Maoists, NC and UML—meet
Wednesday began a review of the 7-point agreement to complete the peace process.
The summit of the party leading the government and the two
biggest opposition parties will also discuss formation of an
experts’ group for state restructuring, search for missing and formation of a truth and reconciliation commission.
The leaders will also discuss other subjects of mutual interest.

THREE PARTIES OF FORMER PANCHAS HOLD UNITY
TALKS

Kathmandu, 16 Nov.: Three parties formed by former panchas
are holding unity talks Wednesday at an undisclosed place in the capital.
RPP Chairman Pashpati Shumshere Rana, Rashtriya Janashakti
Party (RJP) Chief Surya Bahadur Thapa and RPP-Nepal Chairman
Kamal Thapa are holding a dialogue.
The RPP-Nepal was invited for unity talks at the last moment;
the party hasn’t abandoned support for constitutional monarchy.
Followers of the three parties supported active monarchy in the panchayat; RPP and RJP have adopted a republican agenda now.
They announced plans for a merger which is still elusive.
The leaders of the three pares are chhetris while other major
parties are all led by barhmins.

INDIA WITHDRAWS FROM POWER IMPORT TALKS AT LAST MOMENT

Kathmandu, 16 Nov.: Indo-Nepal talks to import of 200MG electricity that was to be held in the Nepali capital from Monday didn’t take place, Kantipur reports.
India withdrew from the power import talks at the last moment as winter has set in and authorities haveprepared the general public by announcing power cuts couldpeak to 18 hours a day from now daily two hours during peak
dry season.
But a joint working committee of the energy sector meets
24 November.
Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai raised issue of power import during his India visit in talks with his Indian counterpart manmhan Singh wih whom he raised the subject again on the dlines of the just concluded 17th summit lof SAARC in Maldives.
