FOUR PARTIES SIGN A BREAKTHROUGH AGREEMENT
Kathmandu, 1 Nov.: UCPN (Maoist), Nepali Congress, CPN UML and United Democratic Madhes Front, a loose alliance of Madhes-based parties--signed a breakthrough
agreement Tuesday.
The agreement could end a deadlock to end the delayed peace process and promulgate a constitution by
the 30 November deadline,
UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Nepali Congress President Shusil Koirala, CPN UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal and Bijaya Kumar Gachchhadar from United Democratic Madhes Front signed the agreement on Tuesday at Baluwatar, the official residence of the prime
minster.
An agreement was reached to integrate 6,500
Maoist former combatants among 19,000 plus
former fighters in 28 cantonments and satellite
camps.
The parties also agreed to provide Rs 400,000 to 800,000 to the combatants opting for rehabilitation.
RSS reported earlier, a meeting of the senior leaders of the three major political parties at Radisson Hotel, Lazimpat in the Capital this afternoon [Tuesday]
has made headway to progress in the peace process.
Talking to media persons following the meeting, Nepali Congress General Secretary Krishna Prasad Sitaula said the discussion on the entire gamut of the peace process was very positive.
We agreed to put forth a common suggestion on the peace process in the meeting being held this evening at the Prime Minister's residence, Baluwatar, he said, expressing hope that the meeting would undoubtedly forge consensus on the remaining contentious issues of the peace process.
Similarly, Standing Committee member of the UCPN-Maoist and Finance Minister Barsha Man Pun said the favourable environment has been created to settle the debated issues of the peace process and the meeting in the Prime Minister's residence would resolve the remaining issues.
Similarly, CPN-UML leader Bhim Rawal said an environment was created in favour of imminent conclusion of peace process.
The meeting was attended by UCPN-Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala, UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal and their aides.
RSS adds: A meeting of the top leaders of the three major parties represented in the Constituent Assembly is underway at the Prime Minister's official residence at Baluwatar on Tuesday evening with a view to forging consensus on the contentious issues of the peace process.
UCPN-Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala and CPN-UML President Jhalanath Khanal are taking part in the meeting, according to the source.
Earlier today, the top leaders of the major parties held a meeting at Lazimpat-based Hotel Radisson for same purpose.

TWO HILL PARTIES DEMANDING AUTONOMY UNITE
Kathmandu, 1 Nov.: The Tamsaling Nepal National Party and Tamsaling Autonomous State Committee have announced unification between the two parties here on
Tuesday, RSS reports.
At a press conference organized here today, President of Tamsaling-Nepal National Party, Parshu Ram Tamang announced the merger between two parties leading to the unification of the central committee, district committee, village committee and their two sister organizations.
The party would continue to be named ‘Tamsaling-Nepal National Party’, according to a joint statement released by Mr Tamang and President of the Committee,
Peshal Tamang.

GIRL,PLAYNG DEUSI ATTACKED, KILLED IN KAILALI
Kathmandu, 1 Nov.: A girl, who was injured in an attack by a
group, died on Monday, RSS reports from Kailali.
The deceased has been identified as Susmita Ghimire, 15, of Laxmi Tole from the Dhangadhi Municipality-1.
According to relatives of the deceased, a group headed by local Dilip Thapa attacked Ghimire on Friday while playing Deusi at Dhangadhi Municipality-3.
Ghimire died while undergoing treatment in Lakhnow of India. The body of the deceased has been brought at the Seti Zonal Hospital, Dhangadhi, for post mortem.
The District Police Office, Kailali, arrested five persons for their involvement in the incident.
