Kathmandu, 10 Nov.: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar said whether the decision made by the cabinet regarding the case of lawmaker Balkrishna Dhungel will be implemented or not depends on the President, RSS reports.

Deputy Prime Minister Gachchhadar, who arrived in Manakamana temple of Gorkha district on Thursday, said President has the right to think over the case whether he should endorse it or not.

He said all the police Inspectors across the country will be transferred as per regular routine within a week.

On the occasion, he also assured that the government will make arrangement for road transport for the pilgrims who could not afford for the cable car.

In a different note, he said the cabinet expansion was the necessity and as per the rule, and that there is no need to protest to this effect.

ADB ASSISTANCE FOR DRINKING WATER PROJECT

Kahmandu, 10 Nov.: The Asian Development bank (ADB) has agreed to provide a loan assistance of Rs 6.24 billion to the government of Nepal for the implementation of the Kathmandu Valley Water Supply Improvement Project, RSS reports.

The main objective of the project is to complement the past and ongoing efforts of the government towards developing an efficient and sustainable water supply system in the Kathmandu Valley.

The loan will focus in the continuation of Melamchi Water Supply Project on distribution of water to consumers and improvement of efficiency and service delivery that has the target of concluding within December 31, 2016.

The project will also support and further consolidate institutional development and improvement of governance in the water supply sector within Kathmandu Valley.

Secretary of Ministry of Finance Krishna Hari Banskota and Country Director of ADB, Nepal Resident Mission, Barry Hitchcock signed the agreement on behalf of the Government of Nepal and ADB respectively.

On the occasion, Secretary Banskota appreciated the ADB for the assistance and for the continued support to the socio-economic development of Nepal.

GOVT. TEAM TOSTDY REASONS FOR MAJOR ACCIDENS
Kathmandu, 10 Nov.: The Department of Transport Management has formed a Committee in order to carry out a technical study of the major road accidents that have taken place in the recent past in various parts of the country, and present a report along with
necessary recommendations, RSS reports..

The Committee has been formed under the convenorship of Technical Director at the Department of Transport Management, Prem Kumar Singh and includes as members the Divisional Engineer at the Department of Roads, the DSP at the Traffic Police Division, the Mechanical Engineer and a Section Officer at the Department of Transport Management.

According to the Ministry of Labour and Transport, the Committee shall present its report to the Director General of the Department of Transport Management within a week.
