GOVT. BUILDNG ANOTHER OFFICIAL RESIDENCE FOR PRESIDENT

EASTERN REGION SECURITY MEET CONCLUDES
Kathmandu, 8 Nov.: A meeting of the security chiefs of the eastern region concluded at Tarahara, Sunsari on Tuesday, RSS reports from Saptari.

On the occasion, Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister, Bijay Kumar Gachhadar assured the security chiefs of non-interference by the political front. He directed the chiefs to mete out action against the criminals as per the rule of law.

The meeting attended by 85 security chiefs from 16 districts of the region held comprehensive discussion on the security situation and the relief package the government brought, according to Saptari Chief District Officer, Lekhnath Pokhrel.

Deputy Prime Minister Gachchhadar also informed the meeting that his ministry is working to prepare the imminent White Paper on security.

The meeting concluded that the security during the festivals was satisfactory.

CABINET DECIDES IN PRINCIPLE FOR OFFICUAL RESIDENCE FOR PRESIDENT
Kathmandu, 8 Oct. The cabinet decided in principle Tuesday to construct an official residence for the president presently occupying Shital Niwas which was donated by Krishna SHumshere JB Rana to govermenttobe used as a state guest house,
The building developed cracks during the September quake—the biggest after the 2090 BS earthquake.
