MAOIST CENTRAL COMMITTEE MEET ALSO AGAIN POSTPONED
Kathmandu, 17 Nov.: A scheduled meeting of the repeatedly postponed Maoist central committee on Thursday was again postponed without a meeting.
Office bearers of UCPN (Maoist) had fixed the date for the meet last Tuesday amid deep internal differences in the party leading the government.
First Vice-chairman Mohan Baidya registered a 13-point differing opinion for adoption criticizing Chairman Prachanda’s handling of party affairs, programmes and policies.
Differences first broke out with the decision of the establishment led by the chairman and Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai to handover keys of containers with insurgency-era Maoist weapons to a government committee led ex-officio by the prime minister for safekeeping.
The fresh postponement coincides with party differences on passing an 11th amendment to the interim constitution.
