MAOIST FACTION OPPOSES FOUR-POINT BREAKTHROUGH DEAL

MOHAN BAIDYA FACTION IN UCPN MAOIST OPPOSES AGREEEMENT UPDATE

Kathmandu, 1 Nov.: Maoist First Vice-chairman Mohan Baidya faction expressed disagreement with the four party seven-party accord.
UCPN (Maoist) General Secretary Ram Bahadur Thapa, a member of the Baidya faction, said reasons for the disagreement will be announced Wednesday at a news conference.
‘We must create an environment for its implementation,” said Maoist Chairman Prachanda after signing the accord.
NC President Sushil Koirala called the agreement ‘historic’.
UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal said the issue was “How to implement the agreement.”
He said UML is committed to the agreement’s implementation.
“We must face it,” Khanal said referring to possible opposition to the agreement.

DIARRHEA CLAIMS TWO LIVES IN SIHARA

Kathmandu, 1 Nov.: Two persons have died in an outbreak of diarrhea at a village in Siraha and hundreds have fallen sick.
A 65-year-old woman and a 15-year old girl died.

NEPALLOSES TO STI LANKA IN TWENTY20 CRICKET TOURNAMENT

Kathmandu, 1 Nov.: Nepal loses to Sri Lanka by 77 runs in a SAARC Twenty20 cricket tournament in Maldives Tuesday.
Nepal was chasing a 242 run target.
Sri Lanka batted first and was scored 241 runs.
