The appointment was made by the cabinet.

NC WELCOMES AGREEMENT TO COMPLETE THE PEACE PROCESS, COSTITUTION DRAFTING

Kathmandu, 3 Nov.: A joint meeting of main opposition NC parliamentary party and central working committee Thursday welcomed Tuesday’s seven-point agreement between ruling coalition partners and two largest opposition parties NC and UML.
The seven-point agreement seeks to complete the delayed peace process and constitution drafting to institutionalize a declared republic.
NC bodies urged the full implementation of the accord.
It requested Maoists to implement the agreement in letter and spirit.
NC decided to keep concerned national bodies alert to implement
“One chapter has declared. The transition has not has ended,” Maoist Chairman Prachanda told parliament saying the agreement this week between ruling parties and two opposition should be implemented.
“Let’s not repeat past mistakes. The mistake should not be repeated. Unlike the past, the agreement should be implemented,” NC Vice- Ram Chandra Paudel told parliament Thursday.


POLICE OFFICER COMMITS SUICIDE

Kathmandu, 3 Nov.: Police Officer Sanjaya Lamichane committed suicide in Morang while on duty Thursday.
He shot himself with a bullet.
The reason for the suicide wasn’t known.

CHAND TARA KUMARI APPOINTED CHAIRPERSON OF NATIONAL WOMEN’S COMMISSION

Katahmandu, 3 Nov.: Chand Tara Kumari, Birgunj, has been nominated Chairperson of National Women’s Commission by the cabinet Thursday.
She replaces Nain Kala Thapa,

Tenure of Tapanath Shukla, Executive Director of Radio Nepal, was extended by another two years by the cabinet.
He has been appointed as the chairman of Radio Presentation Development Commission.
