NEPAL-INDIA WATER TALKS BEGIN IN NEW DELHI THURSDAY

Kathmandu, 24 Nov.: Sixth round two-day Nepal-India secretary-level water talks are being in New Delhi Thursday.
Nepal’s Energy Secretary Balananda Paudel leads a 16-meber Nepali team while the 20-member Indian side is led by Water Resources Secretary Dhruv Vijay Singh.
Implementation of hydro power projects, irrigation and flood control projects will be discussed.
Power purchase from India will also be discussed.

PREFERENCES OF 7,200 FORMER FIGHTERS RECORDED UNTIL WEDNESDAY

Kathmandu, 24 Nov.: Preferences of altogether 7,200 of 19,000 plus former Maoist PLA were recorded until Wednesday, according to the secretariat of special committee for integration, resettlement and supervision.
Preferences of former fighters for integration, resettlement or voluntary retirement are being recorded at seven cantonments.

EVEREST BANK LTD. RECORDS
Rs.402.6 MILLIONPROFIT IN Q1 OF CURRENT FISCAL YEAR

Kathmandu, 24 Nov.: Everest Bank Ltd. Earned a net profit of Rs.402.6 million in Q1 of the current fiscal year ending 17 Oct—up 18.30 percent compared to the same period the previous year.
The joint venture bank with Punjab National Bank record as other banks reported falling profits this year.
