RESIGNATION FROM CENTRAL COMMTTEE
Kathmandu, 12 Nov.: Nepali Congress (NC) president Sushil Koirala has disapproved the resignation of the party senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba from the party's central committee member, RSS reports.

The NC has stated that the letter of rejection was handed over to Deuba on Saturday.

Leader Deuba had tendered resignation from the central committee member some weeks ago over the party's establishment's decision to dissolve the party’s sister wings.

Pyakhurel suffered a stroke Saturday, Radio Nepal reports.
He’s been admitted to hospital for treatment.
Pyakhurel was associated with Nepal Rashtra Bank.

WIFE HACKED TO DEATH BY HUSBAND IN PARBAT
Kathmandu, 12 Nov.: A person here has hacked his wife to death on Saturday, RSS reports from Parbat.

Purnasingh Gurung, 36, of Bhuktang VDC- 2 in district killed his spouse Gita Gurung by attacking her with an axe.

The reason of the murder is said to a household dispute. Following the incident, police have arrested the murder accused Gurung.

PARLIAMENT SUB-COMMITTEE DISCUSSES FINANCIAL SECTOR PROBLEMS

Kathmandu, 12 Nov.: The sub-committee formed under the Public Accounts Committee of the parliament to resolve the problems seen in the bank and financial sectors has accelerated its study, RSS reports.

The committee has intensified discussions with Nepal Bank, Rastriya Banijya Bank, Agricultural Development Bank, NIDC, Capital Markets and other financial organisations through Nepal Rastra Bank to assess the problems seen in the financial sector.

According to Coordinator of the Sub-committee Keshav Prasad Nepal, the committee had demanded reports that include problems and creative suggestions by holding internal discussions with the employees’ unions, and Department Chiefs for their improvement after Nepal Rastra Bank had interaction and study of the financial institutions.

Nepal said the committee has prepared to call the chairmen and executive officers of the development banks in the rural areas for discussion. He said the committee will hold interaction soon with the 'A' grade banks run by the private sector.
