UML STUDETS PROTEST INCREASED HIKE IN PUBLIC TRANSPORT FARES
Kathmandu, 6 Nov.: The sister organization of CPN -UML, All Nepal National Free Students Union (ANNFSU) RR Campus Unit organized an hour-long chakka jam in front of the college on Sunday morning demanding withdrawal of the government decision of increasing fare in the
public vehicles, RSS reports.
Speaking at the protest program, President of the RR Campus FSU and ANNFSU Secretariat member Rajkumar Rai demanded to withdraw the decision that was taken without any discussion with experts and stakeholders concerned.
The students have demanded to change the provision of having to pay the fare for a minimum of six km to two km while using public vehicles.
They also demanded to manage 50 per cent discount card for students at a time when the price of the gas and other petroleum products was hiked and 45 per cent discount for students in the public vehicle.
