WILD ELEPHANTS CREATE HAVOC IN SAPTARI
Kathmandu, 19 Nov.: Wild Tuskers have destroyed the banana farming planted in around 20 bighas of land in Bhardaha of Saptari
district, RSS reports from Rajbiraj.
A herd of seven wild elephants from the Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve destroyed the banana worth of around Rs.1.5 million in Bhardaha VDC-1, said Bachchalal Mandal, a local banana farmer.
It is reported that the tuskers destroyed the banana farm of Mandal, Guru Dev Bishwas, Basudev Laugi, Mahesh Raut, Lalan Ishar, Baiju Mandal, Ram Prasad Raut, Shyamdev Yadav, Indradev Laugi, Birendra Bishwas and other farmers’ banana farms in the village.
Nepal army, Armed Police Force, and Nepal Police personnel have been deployed to chase the wild beasts.
