4-DAY CLOSURE OF SCHOOLS IN BHAKTAPUR WITH BIRD FLU OUTBREAK

Kathmandu, 1 Dec: The Private and Boarding Schools' Organisation of Nepal (PABSON) Bhaktapur Chapter is to close 25 schools under its affiliation for four days in the district citing the bird flu menace, RSS reports from Bhaktapur.
A meeting of the PABSON Bhaktapur decided to close the schools in the western part of the Bhaktapur district which is around 3 kilometers of the Manohara area, said Secretary Shreekrishna KC.
Some fowls at the squatters’ settlement near the Manohara River in the district were found to be infected with H5N1 virus three days back.
