ARMY CHIEF, PRESIDENT HOLD CONSULTATIONS BREAKING NEWS

Kathmandu, 22 Dec.: Army Chief Gen. Chatraman Singh Gurung
Thursday morning held rare consultations with ceremonial President
Dr. Ram Baran Yadav.
The president is the supreme commander-in-chief of Nepal Army.
The meeting coincides with the opposition of main opposition parties to the cabinet directive to the defensive ministry to recruit en masse 3,000 Madeshi youth n the state
UCPN (Maoist) heading the government acceded to a 4-point demand of a front of Madeshi parties in government pushing a terai agenda.
Yadav had a showdown with then Prime Minister Prachanda when he led a government briefly and dismissed Army Chief Gen. Rukmangud Katawal.
The president intervened and Prachanda quit government as the army chief continued in office.
