Kathmandu, 2 Dec.: British Foreign Office Minister has welcomed the categorization of former Maoist PLA combatants Thursday, according to the British embasy.
“I would like to congratulate the Government of Nepal and the political parties on the swift implementation of the survey and categorisation of former Maoist combatants as agreed on 1 November.
“This is a significant step forward in the implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Accord and subsequent agreements and gives renewed hope that the Nepal peace process can be completed successfully. I call on the parties to keep up the momentum by moving ahead quickly with the next steps in this process, including completing the Constitution. I reaffirm the UK Government’s commitment to supporting Nepal’s peace process,” he said.

UPDATE PRACHANDA APPROVES 13-POINT WORK SCHEDULE TO PROMULGATE DELAYED CONSTITUTION
Kathmandu, 2 Dec.: A Prachanda sub-committee Friday finalized a 13-point work schedule to promulgate a delayed constitution by the 31 May 2012 fresh deadline Friday.
The constituent assembly (CA) secretariat presented the schedule at the beginning of the meet following a request Thursday by the first meet of the sub-committee after the extension of the 30 November deadline to promulgate a basic law.
The sub-committee approved the proposal with amendments.

FIVE-MEMBER TEAM FORMED TO OBSERVE HIGH ALERT FOR BIRD FLU OUTBREAK
Kathmandu, 2 Dec.: The Epidemiology and Disease Control Division (EDCD) has formed a five-member Service Response Team to observe high alert from bird flu, RSS reports.
The Division has formed the team including experts on Thursday for observing high alert as bird flu was detected in the Kathmandu Valley.
Dr. Rabi Kiran Kafle and Dr. Pramod Khanal of World Health Organisation (WHO), Public Health Inspector of the Division, Kumar Prasad Dahal and Public Health Inspector of the National Health Education Information and Communication Centre Ran Bahadur Gharti are in the team.
According to Public Health Inspector of the team Kumar Prasad Dahal, isolation ward and lab are in standby for treatment in the centre for any person if found suffering from fever, neck pain and respiratory problem.
Dahal informed that no infection of the disease has been detected on people so far.
