EU ENVOYS LOBBY WITH SUSHIL KOIRALA FOR ENTENSION OF TENURE OF UN RIGHTS BODY
Kathmandu, 8 Dec.: Envoys of EU member states collectively held discussions with (NC) President Sushil Koirala
Envoys lobbied for extension of the OHCH-N tenure that ends Thursday.
Government hasn’t announced its decision on a request for extension as yet.
The European envoys have been extra active lately also pushing parties to launch commissions of truth and reconciliation and the missing.

SUPREME COURT TO ANNOUNCE VERDICT ON GRAFT CHARGE AGAINST MINISTER GUPTA 9 JANUARY
Kathmandu, 8 Dec.: Supreme court is to announce its verdict on a CIAA graft against Communication Minister Jayaprakash Prasad Gupta 9 January.
CIAA asked for a review of the judgment of a special court clearing Gupta on technicality.
Gupta has been accused for possessing wealth disproportionate to his income.
Gupta was communication in the cabinet of Girija Prasad Kpirala before defecting from NC.

BUDDHA-ERA RELICS DISCOVERED IN ARCHALOGICAL WELL
Kathmandu, 8 Dec.: Ancient historical materials that of Buddha’s time have been discovered in an archeological well, spreading in a close proximity to Panwar stream at Ramnagar Village Development Committee (VDC) of Nawalparasi district, RSS reports from Parasi.
Priceless treasures of Buddha’s age including matters used for gambling and a ring have been detected in the well, said locals.
The valuables found in the well resemble that of the materials kept at the museum in Tilaurakot of Kapilvastu.
According to locals, the archeological well including various historical materials of Buddha era were found of late in the area.
Locals have barred extracting sands and pebbles from the stream after the archeologically important well was spotted in course of collecting pebbles.
