FURTHER DETAILS OF NC PROTESTS
Kathmandu, 18 Dec. A NC team led by parliamentary party leader Ram Chandra Paudel held formal discussions Sunday with Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai to discuss demands related to the death of main opposition youth leader Shiva Paudel in the capital while undergoing medical treatment.
The parliamentary party chief who is also party vice-president was
assisted by general secretaries Prakash Man Singh and Krishna Prasad Shitaula.
Bhattarai asked Paudel to withdraw the NC strike as the main opposition leader appraised the government chief of its party demands.
NC has called a nation-wide strike day as the man opposition blamed the government for Paudel’s death.
The protest movement will continue if four demands aren’t met;
Monday’s nation-wide strike in on.
Paudel asked Bhattarai to release others also accused for murder of a
UML youth leader in Chitwan.

PM, STATE REORGANIZATION COMMISSION MEMBERS
MEET
Kathmandu, 18 Dec.: Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai held discussions Sunday with members of a government appointed state restructuring commission, including its coordinator Dr.Madan Pariyar.
Discussions centered around submitting proposals for a federal
structure in the next two months.

THAHSIN SINAWATRA ARRIVES, LEAVES NEPAL UNANNOUNCED
Kathmandu, 18 Dec.: Former Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Sinawatra
who flew into Nepal unannounced Friday afternoon flew onward to Dubai via the Nepali capital Saturday.
Thaksin offered prayers and puja for two hours at the Maya Devi
temple and the Royal Thai Monastery at Lumbini the birthplace of
The Buddha.
Thaksin spent Friday night at Lumbini.
The former Thai premier laws accompanied by a 11-member
entourage.
