COMMUNICATION MINISTER GUPTA CONCERNED
CHARGES MADESH FRONT IN GOVT.PUSHING
ETHNIC ARMY
Kathmandu, 24 Dec.: Minister for Information and Communications, Jayprakash Prasad Gupta has said the Council of Ministers approved the policy paper prepared by the Defense Ministry in order to make Nepal Army more inclusive, RSS reports.

At a programme organized at Reporter´s Club on Saturday, Minister Gupta, who is also the chairman of the Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (Republic), expressed concern over the opposition parties´ expression that the government was making Nepal Army an ethnic army.

The nationality becomes strong only when the state mechanisms are represented by all castes and classes, he argued.

He expressed doubt where the state restructuring would not be carried out as per the demand of all castes, class and communities.

Moreover, Minister Gupta said the Maoist-Morcha alliance would remain intact.

He also argued that present government needs to be made a national consensus government as it would take still two more months to conclude peace process.
