JOURNALIST UMBRELLA ORGANIZATION CONDEMNS NC VIOLENCE
Kathmandu, 19 Dec.: An umbrella organization of journalists
Monday condemned NC violence during what it said would be peaceful protests Monday.
Activists of the main opposition attacked vehicles of journalists and media houses; a vehicle of vernacular daily Naya Patrika was vandalized in the capital.
Government said other demands of NC will be considered after a CIAA report of charges against Shiva Prasad Paudel.
Only murder charge against him has been withdrawn by government.
Ambulance, police van and other vehicles were also vandalized
Altogether 31 persons were arrested in the Valley and thee outside and were released later Monday.
NC withdraw the one day strike at four in the afternoon or one hour 30 minutes before the scheduled time.
NC asked public not to take the violence seriously.
The main opposition said it will resume protests if demands aren’t met by Thursday 22 December.

COLD WAVE KILLS EIGHT IN THREE TERAI DISTRICTS
Kathmandu, 19 Dec. Eight have died on a cold wave in three terai districts, Radio Nepal said Monday evening
Five died in Saptari and Morgang and three died in Mohottari.
Schools are being closed in Janakpur for four days from Tuesday.
