NEPAL SELECTED FOR MCC PROGMAMME
Kathmandu, 16 Dec.: Nepal has been selected for the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) programme in Washington D.C. on Thursday.
MCC selected Nepal as eligible to develop a threshold programme following the recent landmark agreement on the Comprehensive Peace Accord,
US embassy said.
“We welcome the MCC’s decision, which recognises the progress that Nepal has made to advance peace and increase prosperity for its people.
“We look forward to the Government of Nepal’s leadership in working with MCC and the Embassy in designing a threshold program that will
continue to advance the government’s efforts to create a democratic state focused on meeting the needs of the citizens of Nepal,” the embassy said
MCC is an independent U.S. foreign aid agency that is helping to fight against global poverty.

CPN-UNITED MEET IN KANCHANPUR
Kathmandu. 16 Dec.: CPN-United is to be held in Bhimdutta Municipality of Kanchanpur district from December 17-20, the party said.
The meet will approve the party statute and discuss current issues,
including peace and the constitution.
Chandra Dev Joshi is the party chairman.
