PARTIES AGREE OF MIXED ELECTIONS IN A ELECTION SYSTEM

Kathmandu, 13 Dec.: A Prachanda sub-committee on resolution of differences of themes to be included in a proposed constitution Tuesday decided in principle to adopt a mixed election system, UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal said.
But details still have to be worked out, he added.
Further meetings are being held between parties before the main constitutional committee on constitution drafting meets Wednesday.
Immediate past elections were both direct and proportional.
Twenty themes now remain to be resolved

COLD WAVE HITS SIRAHA

Kathmandu, 13 Dec.: The central terai district of Siraha is in a grip of a cold wave.
At least 50 persons are flocking to hospitals every day complaining of cold diarrhea and pneumonia.
Children below five years have been most affected.
The mercury has fallen to below 3 degrees Celsius in the capital.
Fifty days of Mipachas or even when fish feel the cold winter began 6 December.
