PM LENDS SUPPORT FOR DEMLITION OF STUCTURES ANDROAD EXPANSION
Kathmandu, 20 Dec.: Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai Tuesday gave his unstinted support for a drive to pull down structures constructed on encroached land to expand narrow and congested streets of the capital.
The premier supported the drive at a meeting Tuesday of traffic managers at he Offic of the Prime Minister.
Structures are underway to bring down buildings from Kamal Pokhari, Gyaneshwor on to Pashupatinath temple and TIA.
Bhattarai asked traffic police not to relent to pressure and
give up the drive, according to Deputy Inspector General
(DIG) Ganesh Rai
The demolition drive has been criticized for not constructing
footpaths along with the demolition.
