PM` BHATTARAI SUFFERED MOTION SICKNESS

MAIN CONSTITUTION DRAFTING COMMITTEE MEETS

Kathmandu, 16 Dec.: The main constitution drafting committee haired by Nilambar Acharya began a meet Friday to adopt an agreement at a Maoist Chairman Prachanda sub-committee to sort out differences on themes to be included in a proposed constitution
A delayed constitution has to be adopted by 27 May according to a new schedule.
The Prachand sub-committee Thursday resolved differences on four themes reducing differences to 16.
The body under the Acharya committee compromised and agreed not
to put a ceiling of property ownership and also agreed to compensate land holdings beyond government ceiling.
Maoists previously pushed for their nationalization.
Differences have to be resolved by 30 December to enable the
Acharya committee to prepare a draft of a basic law.

PM SUFFERED MOTION SICKNESS

Kathmandu, 16 Dec.: A doctor of a medical team that examined
Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai said he suffered motion sickness, Annapurna Post reports.

CHINESE AMBASSADOR, SUSHIL KOIRALA MEET

Kathmandu, 16 Dec.: NC President Sushil Koirala and Chinese Ambassador Yang Houlan held discussions
Friday morning.
The meeting was held one day after the envoy from the northern
neighbour told Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai the visit of Prime Minister Wen Jenbao beginning 20 December was postponed because of the busy schedule of the government chief involved with the budget at the end
of the Chinese fiscal year.
Man opposition had tried to embarrass the government of Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai with the visit’s cancellation charging the government of sloppy diplomacy.

LAW MINISTER SAYS 10 CANDIDATES FOR JUDGES TRIED TO BRIBE HIM

Kathmandu, 16 Dec.: Law Minister Brijesh Kumar Gupta 10 candidates for judges attempted to bribe him,, Kantipur reports.
He told reporters they attempted to bribe him with one to two million
rupees after emerging from a meeting of the judicial council Thursday.
