PRACHANDA SAYS AGREEMNT ON THEMES IN CONSTITUTION WONT BE REIVIVED

PRACHANDA SAYS AGREED THEMES ON CONSTITUTION WON’T BE REVIVED
Kathmandu, A Prachanda sub-committee meet to resolve differences in themes to be incorporated in a proposed constitution
was inconclusive Wednesday.
The Maoist chief said after the meeting previous agreement on 61 themes won’t be revived.
He said this bravely as a faction in his own party has presented dissenting views on subjects already agreed on.
A task force headed by Laxman Lal Karma was formed to take up differences on 11 themes.
The tenure of the sub-committee ends Friday without completing its task to resolve differences by 30 December.
Prachanda held discussions with NC President Girija Prasad Koirala Wednesday as new obstacles have emerged to complete the peace process and constitution drafting.
Maoists are seeking amendments in agreements that haven’t been met including promises to return seized assets
Opposition is also demanding official Maoist position on agreed issue on which there were agreements before.
A hand-line faction in UCPN (Maoist) has raised objections of themes on which agreement had been reached.
