UPDATE OF NC YOUTH LEADER DEATH; PRESIDENT AIRLIFTED TO CAPITAL
Kathmandu, 17 Dec.: President Dr. Ram BaranYadav was stranded
on the road and had to be airlifted to Shital Niwas after he couldn’t
reach Godavari by road in Lalitpur to attend a function of St. Xavier’s
School Saturday during NC sudden protests.
NC activists vandalized a bus in Pokhara during protests at the
death of youth leader Shiba Prasad Paudel during treatment at hospital in the capital.
Main opposition NC has formed a party investigation team under General Secretary Krishna Pashad Shitaula to probe the death during treatment of head injuries and also called for a judicial inquiry into death in custody.
The party said it can’t trust an administrative injuiry into bad prison conditions.
Protests have been called nation-wide amid calls for a one day general
strike next week
