Kathmandu, 14 Dec.: Prachanda’s private secretary Samir Dahal said efforts are underway to resolve differences the party ahead of a central committee 22 December.
Besides Mohan Baidya and Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Narayana Kazi Shrestha was also present; all three are party vice-chairmen.
Baidya said he had no knowledge of the CP Gajurel statement in Sindhuli Tuesday; Gajurel predicted an imminent split in the party.
Power sharing in the UCPN (Maoist) leading the government was discussed at Wednesday’s meeting of Chairman Prachanda.

ROAD REPORT PRESENTED TO PM
Kathmandu, 14 Dec.: The investigation committee for probing into the poor condition of roads submitted its report on the condition of roads in the Kathmandu Valley to Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai on Wednesday, RSS reports.
The committee handed over the report to the Prime Minister via Lilamani Paudel, Secretary at the Office of the Prime Minister.
On the occasion, Secretary Paudel stressed the need of carrying out objective investigation regarding the weaknesses in the road construction and repair and going into action.
Coordinator of the committee, Jaya Mukunda Khanal said that the condition of roads in the Kathmandu Valley is very poor and road construction work is not up to the mark from the technical point of view. He said the final report would be presented in about two weeks.
