SENSITIVE AREAS DECLARED AS POLITICS BECOMES CONFRONTATIONAL

PROHIBITORY AREAS DECLARED AROUND SESISITIVE AREAS IN CAPITAL FROM FRDAY

Kathmandu, 22 Dec.: The Kathmandu District Administration Office has declared some of the areas in Kathmandu as prohibited areas in view of the security sensitivity, RSS reports.

The areas declared as prohibited are areas 50 metres to the north and south from the gate at the compound of the Office of the President, the front compound of the Office of the Vice President and the Prime Minister´s residence and surrounding areas.

Similarly, areas leading up to the Ripumardan petrol pump at Bhadrakali Temple, the areas from the Maitighar Mandala up to Hanumanthan, including the south gate to Singha Durbar, the areas from the west gate to the Constituent Assembly building up to Naya Baneshwar Chowk and the areas from the Maitighar Mandala up to the Padmodaya turning.

The declaration of prohibited areas shall take effect from tomorrow [Friday] until further notice, according to a notice issued by the Chief District Officer of Kathmandu district, Ratna Raj Pandey.
