TWO INDO-NEPAL AGREEMENTS TO FACILITATE ELECTRICITY IMPORT

INDO-NEPAL AGREEMENTS FOR IMPORT OF ELECTRICITY

Kathmandu, 16 Dec.: Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) and Power Trading Corporation (PTC) India this week signed two agreements in New
Delhi for implementation of transmission service agreements.
The agreements will facilitate the import from India of 145 to 150MW power in next six months
Nepal this month in New Delhi bilateral talks sought import of 100MW power to offset power shortage in the dry winter spell even without an infrastructure for it.

2 TU OFFICILS QUIT

Kathmandu, 16 Dec.: Executive Director of Center for International Relations Krishna Belbasi and Bharat Raj Pokhrel, Director of Center for Development and Administration (CEDA), have resigned.
They decried the leadership and condition at the contry’s oldest
university.
