PRECHANDA SUB-COMMITTEE SETTLES TWO MORE DIFFERENCES
Kathmandu, 18Dec.: A Prachanda sub-committee to resolve differences on themes to be included in a proposed constitution to be to be promulgated by 28 May was resolved Sunday morning.
The resolution will be presented at a meeting of the main constitution headed by Nilambar Acharya Monday.
Differences have now been narrowed down at the sub-committee to 14 issues.
Differences have to be concluded by 30 December for the Acharya committee to prepare a first draft of the delayed basic law.
Differences were eliminated in procedures to be adopted for constitution amendment and appointment of envoys.
Details weren’t disclosed Sunday.
Differences in Prachanda’s UCPB (Maoist) surfaced even after agreement in the sub-committee to compensate those possessing land above government ceiling; Maoists seek to nationalize such land.
