UAE BEATS NEPAL IN ACC TWENTY20 CUP
Kathmandu, 4 Dec.: United Arab Emirates (UAE) beat Nepal by four wickets in the ACC Twenty20 Cup
cricket tournament at the TU Cricket Ground on Sunday.
Nepal batted first and scored
95 runs for nine wickets in 20 overs.
UAE scored the required runs in 18.3 overs


Mehboob Alam was Nepal’s highest scorer hitting 17
runs in 12 balls.
Nepal beat Hong Kong in the first match Saturday.
The match was disrupted for sometime by crowd trouble.

BIRD FLU WATCH IN BIRGUNG

Kathmandu, 4 Dec.: The District Livestock Office, Parsa, has observed high alert for protection from bird flu, RSS reports from Birgunj.

Chief and Senior Veterinary doctor of the Office, Udaya Pratap Singh, in the district level meeting held with the purpose of controlling infection of bird flu, said works for observing high alert have been expedited to control bird flu disease from entering in the district.

Singh also requested all not to import fowls and fowl-related materials, to use methods of bio- security in one’s poultry farms and to help by informing the nearby Livestock Centres and Sub-Centres if many fowls die suddenly.

Saying that initiatives have been started to stop importing of chicken and fowl related goods with the help of local administration and security bodies, Singh added that high alert has been observed in possible risk areas and monitoring works have been made very effective.

Official at Livestock Quarantine Office, Birgunj, Munindra Nath Sharma said they have started special care and that awareness-oriented programs have been extensively forwarded not to let bird flu enter.

Initiatives have been taken to raise awareness as a campaign to aware locals. A mechanism including local police administration, concerned bodies and technicians has been formed to carry out market monitoring effectively and the mechanism has started its works as a campaign, informed Sharma.

According to Superintendent of Police of the District Police Office, Subodh Ghimire, all police posts and check posts of the district have been made aware about it and directed not to compromise on the issue that is directly linked with the life of the public.

Officiating Chief District Office of Parsa Chiranjibi Adhikary said local administration is ready to provide help to stop bird flu from entering in the country.

MAOIST THREAT OF STATE CAPTURE ONLY A DAR DREAM SAYS DEUBA

Kathmandu, 4 Dec.: Former Prime Minister and senior leader of Nepali Congress Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that threats for seizure of state power by Chairman of UCPN (Maoist) Pushpa Kamal Dahal is only a day dream, RSS reports from Dandeldhura..

Speaking at a press meet organized on Sunday by Dadeldhura Chapter of the Nepal Press Union (NPU), Deuba said no system will be acceptable to Nepali people except federal democratic.

Deuba requested not to see dream of autocracy saying expression of Dahal to capture power of the State is against all the agreements made so far.

Answering the queries of the media persons over the disputes seen in the party, he charged that President Koirala has not started any initiative to solve the problems.

Deuba informed that he will put forth the issue among cadres in his far-west visit.

Leader Deuba also visited leaders and cadres of different sister organization of the party in the party office, Ranidhara, today [Sunday] itself.
