GACHEDHAR HOLDS TALKS WITH INDIAN COUNTERPART

NEPAL, INDIA HOME SECRETARY TALKS CONCLUDE

Kathmandu, 19 Jan. Home secretary level two-day Indo-Nepal talks on
security and other issues concluded in New Delhi Thursday,
The talks at the levels was the first in more than two years.
Nepal’s Home Secretary Sushil Jung Rana and his Indian counterpart
R.K. Singh.led the two delegations.
The two South Asian nations agreed to take strong measures
to control cross-border crimes and dugs smuggling.
Other issues also figured in the talks.
India is a safe sanctuary for criminal activities by terai-based armed lrebel groups while India says the open 1,700km border home is used by Pakistan for anti-India activities.
New Delhi makes the claim even as it shares a long and sea border
with Pakistan.
Deputy Prime Minister Bijaya Kumar Gachedhar, who is also in the India capital discussed security issues with his Indian counterpart P.Chidambaran Thursday.
Gachedhar is also home and defence minister.
