PM BHATTARAI REITERATES HE WON’T RESIGN
Kathmandu, 3 Jan,: Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai has expressed his commitment not to step down until the tasks of peace process and constitution writing were completed, RSS reports from Biratnagar.
Inaugurating a seminar on regional economic development organized by different organizations Tuesday, Prime Minister Dr. Bhattarai said the government was fully committed to writing constitution within the slated timeframe by concluding the peace process.
Prime Minister said, "Government is active to work by prioritizing peace, constitution, good governance and prosperity."
He also said that efforts were underway to forge consensus to settle down the conflicting issues seen during the constitution writing process. The Prime Minister wished for the positive role of the private sector for economic prosperity to achieve economic growth rate and generating employment opportunities.
On the occasion, Prime Minister said the government was planning to run sick and closed industries soon to increase industrial activities for promoting exports. Dr. Bhattarai further said that there was no alternative to building small-scale hydel projects to end power crisis.
PM directs civil servants to provide easy services to people
Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai has directed the bureaucracy to provide with easy and accessible services to people being not influenced by any forces.
Issuing directives to the chiefs and representatives of civil service, security bodies, public enterprises and corporations offices on Tuesday, Prime Minister Bhattarai said the employees should confidently provide public services without making any compromises in the changed context.
The incumbent government has placed top importance to the agenda of peace process, constitution-making and economic relief, he said, stressing the bureaucracy should emphatically flow services to people belonging to backward and disadvantaged sections so as to increase their access to state-sponsored services.
The program was attended by the employees in regional, zonal and district level offices in the east.
The political instability has negatively impacted good governance in the country and that there is public concern about the status quoist working style of the civil servants, he said the civil service employees should be responsive to people.
The Prime Minister further said the country is marking a new era with the making of new constitution, urging the employees to work changing their mind-sets and manners.
Meanwhile, the Prime minister held parleys with security bodies in the eastern region. During the meeting with the chiefs and representatives of regional administrative office, district administration office, Nepal Police, Armed police Force, National Bureau of Investigation, Prime Minister Bhattarai issued directive to make the public services and security effective and people-friendly.

AVALANCHE DESTROYS 50 HOUSES IN LANGTANG
Kathmandu, 3 Jan.: : An avalanche coupled with heavy storm from Langtang Lirung Mountain has damaged around 50 houses in Langtang region in Rasuwa district, RSS reports from, Rasuwa..
According to local, Pasang Dindruk Tamang the heavy avalanche and storm damaged the houses and destroyed properties.
Tamang added that two horses and two yaks were also killed.
Tamang said the avalanche has fallen from above 7,200 meters. Locals said they have faced difficulties due to the snow flood.
