PM SAYS COOPERATIVES BEING MERGED
Kathmandu, Jan 13: Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai on Friday has said that the government is committed towards economic development by merging entire cooperatives of the country, greatwayonline.com reports.
PM Bhattarai, inaugurating the 19th annual general meeting of National Cooperative Union in the Capital, has said that cooperative struggle for sustainable peace and economic prosperity has been gaining fame in the country.
He said cooperative struggle is the effective procedure for the development of all the sectors in the country.
Addressing the same programme, PM Bhattarai said that government will analyse the contributions made by the cooperatives towards alleviating poverty, providing employment opportunities, among others.

Kathmandu, 13 Jan ::Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai on Friday revealed that the government is planning to uplift the standard of the community schools with the education tax, geatwayonlne.com reports..
PM Bhattarai, speaking at the national convention of the Higher Secondary School Union Nepal in the Capital, said the government has been attempting to manage the education sector by imposing tax. He said, the standard of education sector will be uplifted with the tax paid by the general public.
Likewise, he condemned the demonstration staged by various academic institutions and organisations against the tax levied on education sector.
He said, “Community schools lack buildings, blackboards, toilets, among other basic facilities, he questioned, “how can student study geometry and other subjects without blackboard?”
He said the standard of education sector will be uplifted with the tax paid by the general public.
